Finding your way aroundMain Sections The Mass Spectrometry Instruments site is divided into logical sections which can be accessed from the home page. These navigation buttons are also repeated in the left hand portion of your browser window. Once past the home page, the site uses a two frame approach, hence it is recommended that your browser should be frame compatible and have frames switched on. Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer versions 3 and above should be able to display these frames. The site also makes extensive use of the cascading style sheet specification which isn't fully supported in all browsers - however, the information contained on each page should still be accessible without style sheet support although some of the formatting may appear odd. If you are using version 4.0 and above of the major browsers, there should be no problem. Sub Sections Within each section, the top row of blue buttons will expand down to provide access to the various sub-divisions within that section. Access is maintained to the contact page and to help and search facilities within all pages. Search Facility The search is a simple text based search which will return a list of pages containing a reference to your keyword. Currently the search algorithm simply matches the occurrence of the character string. Thus 'mass spec' would find pages containing references to 'mass spectrometer', 'mass spectrometry', 'mass spectrum', but not to 'mass intensity spectrum' for example. In Case of Real Difficulty If all else fails you can access every page on the site via the Table of Contents. |
